Legacy Promotions returns to the Camel Rock Casino December 3rd with New Mexico’s Top Contenders headlined by Tony “The Warrior” Valdez against Augustine Benegas.
Valdez recently opened his own gym in Espanola, NM, and will be fighting for the first time since a February, split decision loss to Raymond Cgacon; a loss that ended a streak of 3 straight draws. Valdez is searching for the formula that will saw him score 7 knock outs. Benegas hails from Las Cruces, an is undefeated, with 2 of 9 wins by knock out. Just 3 and a half weeks ago Benegas scored a unanimous decision win 62 fight vet Alejandro Moreno.
The itch has got to Joaquin Zamora and he is returning to the ring to take on Francisco Javier Castro. Zamora last fought 43 months or 3 years 7 months ago, earning a unanimous decision win over Bernardo Guereca. Castro, who has 22 of 27 wins by knock out, while on the losing end of his last 4, Castro has been in the ring with undefeated fighters Anton Novikov and Errol Spence Jr.
The Sanchez brothers are both expected to be in action. A opponent search is still underway for undefeated Jason Sanchez, while Jose Luis, who’s coming off a destruction of Arturo Crespin, is set to meet 20 fight vet, Tavorus Teague of Bakersfield, California.
Coming off a decision win over Sergio Najera, Jesus Xavier Pacheco will next take on Gene Perez, who’s fought every prospect in the state from Jason Sanchez, Jose Osorio Alex Holguin, and both Holmes brothers.
