LFA will continue to build on that success starting with LFA 5 – Edwards vs. Townsend on Friday, February 24th. 1STBANK Center has been a fantastic venue with the RFA and we look forward to continuing that fan experience with LFA events moving forward.”

Marcus Edwards is a 27 year old member of Factory X Muay Thia, who has been characterized as flamboyant and is one of the few vets of bot RFA & LFC. Edwards nickname is how he fights with “Bad Intentions” that have led to 11 of 12 wins coming by knock out and 10, 1st round stoppages. Edwards has 4 of his last 5 fights, with consecutive 1st round finishes of Lorawn-T Nelson (sub) and Billy Christianson (tko).

Quote from rfafighting.com-“It’s an honor to be headlining one of the first LFA events in my backyard,” Edwards exclaimed. “I have fought for both RFA and Legacy FC and had great experiences working with the people behind the scenes for both promotions. They are an awesome, fun group of people, and the merger now has them all under one roof. I got also excited when I heard I was fighting Adam Townsend. This guarantees an exciting, hard-hitting, fan-friendly fight.”

Tennessee’s, Adam Townsend is a 28 year old with 12 of 16 victories by stoppage and 9 by way of submission. On the strength of an 8 fight win streak and consecutive wins in RFA, “Prime Time” headlined RFA 33, losing a split decision to UFC vet Ernest Chavez. Following getting back in the win column with a mTKO of Justin Hartley in his home state, Townsend went to China, scoring a TKO of UFC vet Junior Assuncao, in under a minute.

Quote from rfafighting.com- “Coming to the LFA was an easy decision,” stated Townsend. “I got to meet everyone from RFA and Legacy when I fought for RFA on the RFA vs. Legacy card. They were all great. Now it’s like one big family with the LFA. I really like this Marcus Edwards matchup too. I like that he’s aggressive and comes to fight, but he’s never fought someone that’s gonna put pressure on him they way I will on February 24th.”
