Bellator MMA will be back in Ireland on February 24th with the main event seeing former Bellator Light Heavyweight champion Liam McGeary squaring off with Ireland’s own Chris “The Housewives Choice” Fields.

McGeary who has 5 wins by submission and 5 by knock out is looking to rebound from his career defeat and from losing the championship by unanimous decision to Phil Davis. McGeary won the title by unanimous decision over Emanuel Newton and defended it against Tito Oritiz, winning by submission.

Fields is a member of the world renowned SBG Team, who has never been to a decision with 6 knock out and 5 submission victories accompanied by 6 stoppages losses, and 1 disqualification. Back last February, at BAMMA 24 Fields ended a 4 fight win-less streak with a submission of Dan Konecke.

Bellator 173 is scheduled for February 24th at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Ireland.

The card is also expected to see SBG’s undefeated James Gallagher in action. Gallagher has 4 of his 5 victories by way of rear naked choke including his Bellator 169 finish of Anthony Taylor. Right now Gallagher doesn’t have an opponent, but has been called out by Cameron Else, who made his promotional debut on the card, scoring a 20 second TKO of Dylan Tuke.
