Gian Villante to face “Shogun” Rua in Brazil

After having his last fight in his home state of New York, Gian Villante will be on the road an out of the country for his next and biggest fight of his career, against former UFC and Pride world champion Maurico “Shogun” Rua; in his native Brazil.

A former college football player Villante the number 13 ranked contender has 10 of his 15 wins by knock out. Villante has won 4 of his last 6 fights and is coming off a TKO of Saparbek Safarov, from UFC Fight Night Albany.

Rua is ranked number 7 in the division, a exciting Muay Thia striker and BJJ black belt, who has spent a great deal of his career battling various injuries.
