Mean Machine Meets The Juggernaut at Bellator 174
The latest addition to Bellator 174, which is 18 days away, is a Bantamweight contest between Steve “Mean Machine” Garcia (7-1) & Joe “The Juggernaut” Taimanglo (23-7-1).
Garcia is a member of JacksonWink MMA, who won his first 6 fight by knock out, before
a split decision loss to Ricky Turcios, and rebound 7 months later, with a unanimous decision win over Ronnie Lawrence. The “Mean Machine” is a striking machine, standing at 6 ft tall, Garcia uses his frame and long strikes very well.
Taimanglo hails from Guam, and has 12 of 17 stoppage wins by submission. At 5’4” “The Jurrgernaut” is compact and powerful, using big hooks to get on the inside and look to make the fight a ground battle. Tiamanglo won 4 straight, with the 4th, being 3rd round submission of Bantamweight number one contender Darrion Caldwell. But due to missing weight, which has been a consistent problem for Taimanglo, he re-matched and dropped a unanimous decision to Caldwell, at Bellator 167.
Bellator 172 is set for March 3rd at the Winstar World casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma.
