Mighty Mouse Looks for 10th Successful Title Defense in April


Originally scheduled for UFC 201 back in July but derailed due to injury, Wilson Reis will get his chance to challenge Demetrious Johnson for the UFC Flyweight title in the main event of UFC on Fox 24.

Reis is the number 4 ranked contender and is a BJJ black belt. Reis has won 5 of his last 6 fights and is on a 3 fight win streak, coming off a unanimous decision win over Yuta Sasaki. Johnson, is undefeated at Flyweight and will be looking to made a historic 10th consecutive title defense. Criticized for not being a finisher, Johnson has won 5 of his title defenses by stoppage, with 3 submissions and 2 knock outs.

The card will also see at Middleweight number 3 ranked contender, Brazilian Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza (24-4), squaring off with number 6 ranked contender, Australia’s Robert Whittaker (18-4). “Jacare” the former Strikeforce Middleweight champion, has won 10 of his last 11 fights, with last two victories being 1st round destruction’s of Vitor Belfort and Tim Boetsch. Whittaker is on a 6 fight win streak, that has seen 3 wins by knock out, including his November win over Derek Brunson.
