Roncoroni & Samir set to Throwdown for the Ring of Combat Middleweight title

Looking to continue his charge towards the big leagues, Eric Roncoroni has been given the chance to regain the Ring of Combat Middleweight title September 15th, as he faces Ahmed Samir for the currently vacant championship.

Ring of Combat 60 takes place at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Roncoroni vs. Samir is currently slated to be the co-main event and is 1 of 4 title fight on the card.

Roncoroni (5-2) a product of the American Strikers Academy, coached by Don Cioffi, has all his wins by stoppage. Roncoroni has scored 4 of his 5 wins by knock out, including the knee that put Michael Elshamy to sleep, earning Roncoroni the Ring of Combat Middleweight title back at Ring of combat 55.

Ahmed Samir (11-1 boxer, 0-1 mma) hails from Egypt and spent from 2008 to June of 2013 in the world of professional boxing. Samir scored 7 of his 11 boxing victories by decision and hasn’t competed since a split decision loss, to journeyman, Alexis Mejias. Some sources I checked say Samir has no MMA experience and this will be his first MMA contest, but sherdog.com has a Ahmed Samir Sony listed who in February of 2014, at Heavyweight took a unanimous decision from Mohamed Ragab Safwan.

In a interesting twist to this bout, as I’m writing this peace, the fight has been changed at Samir’s request to 190 lbs. catchweight, but is reportedly still for the Ring of Combat Middleweight title.
