Glory Kickboxing is in Illinois at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, for Glory 44. The main event is a grudge match between France’s Cédric Doumbé & Dutchman Murthel Groenhart, for the Glory Welterweight championship.

The night starts off with the Super Fight Series on UFC Fight Pass, which is headlined by Germany’s Meryem Uslu (36-10-1) challenging Tiffany Van Soest (17-2-1) for the Women’s Glory Super Bantamweight title. The Glory 44 main card will have a 4 man welterweight tournament. The co-main event is also a Welterweight contest with Illinois’s own Richard Abraham (11-5) squaring off with Mexico’s Daniel Morales (3-1).

The main event has Murthel “The Predator” Groenhart (66-22-3) challenging Cédric Doumbé (67-4-1) for the Glory Welterweight title. The two have fought before with Doumbé taking a unanimous decision win at Glory 28. Since the loss Groenhart has won 5 of 6 and 3 straight. Doumbé lost his Glory debut to Yoann Kongolo and has since won 4 straight by decision. Doumbé won the title at Glory 36 and has twice successfully defended it, including avenging the loss to Kongolo.
