Bellator Announces Phenom-Red King Title bout set for January
Rory “Red King” MacDonald will challenge Douglas “The Phenom” Lima for the Bellator Welterweight title in mid January.
The news was first reported by ESPN. The event will take place January 20th at the Forum in Inglewood, California.
Lima a 2x Bellator Welterweight champion, is on a 3 fight win streak, coming off a successful inJune, where the Brazilian defend his title with a unanimous decision win over Lorenz Larkin.
Macdonald the big time free agent acquisition, made a successful promotional debut in May, at Bellator 179, submitting Paul Daley.
Lima has 13 is 24 finishes by way of knockout, while Macdonald has 14 finishes, with 7 submissions and 7 knockouts.
