Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, hosts UFC 215. The night feature attraction has Amanda “Lioness” Nunes defending the Women’s UFC Bantamweight title against Valentina “Bullet” Shevchenko.
The main event, is the rescheduled main event from UFC 213, in which champion Amanda Nunes pulled out on fight day, due to illness. This is the 2nd meeting between Nunes & Shevchenko. Nunes won the first meeting by unanimous decision, at UFC 196, in March of 2016. Nunes on a 5 fight win streak, has defended the title once successfully, but withdrew from UFC 213 on fight day with a medical issue that reportedly was aggravated by travel and had plagued the Brazilian is other fights. Since the first meeting Shevchenko has bettered Holly Holm by decision and submitted Julianna Pena.
The co-main event will see number 10 ranked Welterweight contender, former Lightweight champion Rafale dos Anjos against number 6 ranked Welterweight contender Neil Magny. Dos Anjos is coming off a June, unanimous decision over former Strikeforce champion Tarec Saffiedine. Magny has won 4 of his last 5, coming off a December unanimous decision of former, UFC Welterweight champion Johny Hendricks.
