A Lightweight bout between Justin “The Highlight” Gaethje & Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier will headline UFC on Fox 29.
UFC on Fox 29 takes place at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
Gaethje (18-1) the fromer WSOF champion, had two fights in the octagon in 2017, both his TKO win over Michael Johnson and his knock out loss to Eddie Alvarez, were fight of the year candidates. Gaethje is the number 6 ranked contender, in the UFC rankings, and has 15 wins by knock out. Poirier (22-5) the number 5 ranked contender, has won consecutive bouts over Jim Miller, by decision and having submitted Anthony Pettis.
The card has also added a welterweight scrap pitting former interim champion Carlos “The Natural Born Killer” Condit against, back from a retirement vacation Matt “The Immortal” Brown. Condit (30-11) has 28 finishes, 15 knock outs, 13 submissions, and looks to end a 3 fight skid. Brown (21-16) has 19 finishes 13 knock outs, 6 submission, and is coming off a knock out of Diego Sanchez; which ended a 3 fight skid.
