Martinez-Perez Headlines Cold War 4


Saturday Night (January 27) Holmes Boxing presents Cold War 4 at the Buffalo Thunder Casino. A 7 fight car headline by Espanola’s, Antonio “Tone” Martinez of Holmes Boxing squaring off with Belen’s, Gene “The Kid” Perez of Perez Fighting Systems.

Both men will be looking to rebound from losses, Martinez coming off a split decision loss to Gabriel Gutierrez, from September, while Perez is coming off a November decision loss to Gabriel Rodriguez. Martinez comines in with 6 of his 8 wins y knock out while Perez our 2017 Caged Minds award winner for having the biggest Balls, has both his wins by decision.

Perez said of his plan for the fight- ”I am going to test him. I am going to make him work, going to use speed I will surprise him with my power. I will take him to the deep Water.”

In the nights co-main event undefeated Cuban, Frank Sanchez Faure, who has tons of international experience, goes against Albuquerque’s Manuel Eastman, who holds a win over UFC vet Cody East.

Caged Minds 2017 New Mexico Boxer of the Year Jose Osorio, who fights out of the Duke City Brawlers, looks to build on his 5 fight win streak, when he squares off with Derek “The Rage” Perez.

When asked about what it will take to get the win Osorio replied with“He’s going to try to make it a dog fight and I will have to stay composed and tight with my shots. Push him back with good effective head movement“. 

Derek Perez says “I’m Coming in with pressure all four rounds. I have to fight smart , you fight a boxer an box a fighter, I was always told.”

The undercard will see undefeated “Irish” Brian McClain from Rio Rancho, NM, welcome Newark, New Jersey’s, Travis Foster to the pro ranks. McClain said- “My last 2 fights have been draws and I’m not looking for a third”.

Undefeated Leanna Martinez from Espanola, and fighting out of Holmes Boxing, takes on win-less Kristen Montano from Warrior’s Boxing in Albuquerque. Jee Kim from Los Angeles, California, will make his pro debut against win-less Joseph Veloz, from El Paso, TX.

And get the night started undefeated Jordanne “OMG” Garcia, from Albuquerque, faces El Paso’s Karina Mendoza, who’ll be making her pro debut. When asked how she’s feels about the upcoming fight Garcia said- “I’m pretty excited to get back in the ring, hoping to be 3-0 after this. I’m hungry for another win”.
