Trio of Terrific Tussles taking place at Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio
The Arnold Sports Festival is a tradition of spreading the positivity of physical fitness and being a celebration of all sports. The festival includes a variety of sports on display ranging from weightlifting to handball, CrossFit, many others, and this year mma presented by Alliance MMA.
At 155 lbs. Bedford Ohio’s, Devonte “King Cage” Smith (6-1) faces UFC vet, fellow Ohio native Justin “Fat Eddie” Edwards (9-5). Smith has not scene a decision as a pro, the winner of back to back contests has 5 knockouts and a submission on his record. Edwards was a member of TUF 13 and was back on the show for TUF 25 “Redemption” where he bettered Joe Stevenson by decision, but got submitted by Tom Gallicchio in the next round.
Alumni’s of AXS TV and Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series meet in the Flyweight division, when Jordan “Chino” Espinosa (11-5) of Luttrell/Yee MMA squares off with CJ “The Atuobot” Hamilton (12-5) of the Contemporary Martial Arts Gym in Georgia. Both fighters have a strong wrestling base and are explosive athletes. Espinosa has won 2 straight submitting Bobby Escalante and Nick Urso. In December Hamilton rebounded from a decision loss to Casey Kenney, to defeat Ryan Hollis by decision.
In a Light Heavyweight contest Columbus’s own Travis “Bam Bam” Davis (5-1) takes on fellow Buckeye, Jesse Murray (5-2). Davis has all his victories by submission while Murray has 4 finishes, 3 submissions and a knock out.
Alliance MMA at the Arnold Sports Festival is March 3rd, at the Columbus Convention Center.
