As had been rumored Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes will be defending her title in the featured contest of UFC 224.
Looking to dethrone the champion will be Colorado’s, Raquel Pennington the number 2 ranked contender in the division.
Note: Just days ago UFC president Dana White had publicly said he intended to make Cris “Cyborg” vs Amanda Nunes.
UFC 224 is set for May 12, at Jeunesse Arena, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Nunes (15-4) is on a 6 fight win streak. Training out of American Top Team in Florida , Nunes has twice successfully defended her tile, a TKO of Ronda Rousey & a split decision over Valentina Shevchenko. The “Lioness” has 13 finishes, 10 by knock out.
Pennington (9-5) was a member of season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter. “Rocky” is currently on a 4 fight win streak. Due to a knee injury, Pennington hasn’t fought since UFC 205, when she took a unanimous decision from Miesha Tate.
