April 28th, the Clovis Civic Center will once again host a night of mixed martial arts action presented by Force Of 1 Fighting Championship, “Warriors Path Fight to the End.
The main event will see in his retirement fight, Force of 1’s Paco Castillo against Belen’s Gene “The Kid” Perez owner of Perez Fighting Systems. This will be the 41st professional bout for Castillo according to mixedmartialarts.com, who has finished 81% of his victories, all by submission. Castillo looks to rebound from a decision loss to Joe Saucedo. Perez is (6-8) in MMA and is (2-12-1) inside the boxing ring. Perez was last in the cage in October, submitting Joe Guerrero at SCL 62. We most recently saw Perez in the ring at Legacy Boxing Promotions Route to Glory, being robbed by the judges of a decision win over Jose Pardo.
The pro card will also see the long awaited pro debut of Jamie Calloway against Albuquerque’s Brandon Trujillo. Calloway hasn’t fought since a April of 2016 submission win over Fernando Sanchez. Calloway has spent most of 2017 in search of the opportunity to make his pro debut. Trujillo is a heavy handed athletic fighter looking to ended a 4 fight skid.
The pro card also has a on going opponent search for someone to meet Chris Cortez in a Flyweight bout.
Currently the amateur portion of the card has 6 fights official, including a women’s contest between Ruby Santos & Amy Gage. There are 3 opponent searches underway for the amateur card.
