The SAP Center in San Jose, California, hosts Bellator 199. The main event will feature the final Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix Quarterfinal as Light Heavyweight champion Ryan “Darth” Bader faces “King Mo” Muhammed Lawal.
These two had been scheduled to fight at Bellator 180 in what would have been a Light Heavyweight number 1 contenders bout. Lawal pulled out of the fight and was replaced by then champion Phil Davis, who Bader defeated for the second time by split decision. Bader is on a 4 fight win streak as he fights at Heavyweight for the first time. In November Bader defended his title for the first time scoring a 2nd round TKO of Linton Vassell. Lawal a former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight champion, also won the 2015 Rizin World Grand Prix. “King Mo” last fought in March taking a decision from Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Lawal has fought 10 times at Heavyweight going 9-1.
