Mousasi-MacDonald Title Bout Slated for September

After winning the Bellator Middleweight title Gegard Mousasi immediately called out Welterweight champion Rory MacDonald. It appears the Bellator Brass also likes the idea.

Reports are swirling around that the two Bellator champion will go head to head September 29 in San Jose, as “The Red King” challenges “The Dreamcatcher” for the Bellator 185lbs. Belt.

Mousasi a former Dream & Strikeforce champion, is on a 7 fight win streak. In two trips into the Bellator cage, Mousasi has grinned out a decision win over Alexander Shlemenko and also took Rafael Carvalho to the ground, pounding him out in under a round to win the Bellator Middleweight title.

MacDonald 5-2 in his last 7, is also 2-0 in Bellator having submitted Paul Daley and wrestled the Bellator Welterweight title away from Douglas Lima by unanimous decision.

It’s also being rumored that the late September event will see the 4th meeting between Wanderlei Silva & Rampage Jackson. Silva won the first two meeting back in Pride, while Rampage hand his hadn raised at UFC 92. All 3 fight have ended by knock out.
