Bellator 208 adds Henderson vs. Awad
Lightweights “Smooth” Benson Henderson & Saad “Assassin” Awad will clash October 13th.
Bellator 208 is set for October 13 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, headlined by Fedor Emelianenko squaring off with Chael Sonnen in a Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix Semifinal.
Hendrerson (25-8) is trying to once again climb to the mountain to tile contender after coming to Bellator MMA as a huge free agent acquisition, the former UFC & WEC Lightweight champion lost 3 of his first 4 fights, twice losing in title fights, with the lone win coming from a TKO by injury over Patrick Freire. The MMA Lab fighter proved he’s still dangerous submitting Roger Huerta in April.
Awad (23-9) a staple of Bellator MMA has fought for the promotion 16 times (11-5), with more then half his wins by knock out, is sharpening his skills at the Treigning Lab these days. Like Henderson, Awad has fought anywhere from 170-155. Currently on a 4 fight win streak, that has seen first round finishes of Zach Freeman & Ryan Couture, Awad has a 74 % finishing rate & 43% knock out rate.
