Havoc in Hobbs 9 Recap & Results

Club La Sierra in Hobbs, New Mexico, hosted School of Hard Knocks: Havoc in Hobbs 9, a 8 fight card headlined by Joe Hurst against John Romero.

Aric Mercado vs. Daniel Arriaga- Mercado fearlessly moved forward with his strikes getting takedown twice the 2nd time catching Arriaga in an armbar forcing the tap.

Lee Anthony Estrada vs. Chris Finch- Finch has a strong round one rebounding from a low bow with a take down and ending the 1st in back mount landing heavy ground an pound. In the 2nd looked for another takedown, but was swept to his back from a guillotine. Estrada would work his top gain. Finch would get back to his feet and end the round his a nice straight right. Finch refused to answer the bell for round 3, giving Estrada the TKO victory.

Rickey Morales vs. Sterling Peak- Peak immediately walk down Morales and started exchanging, Peak swinging big hooks. Morales would fins his way big up after a pair of peak takedowns, and would go back to the mat after eating a right right hand. Missing the chance to take Morales’s back, Peak would end the first round fight off a front choke. In round two Peak again March down Morales letting the leather fly an sweeping the legs out from Morales with a leg kick, also scoring with a right hook. Peak jumped on a guillotine choke, which Morales escape. Peak walked down Moarles with a flurry of straight punches forcing the ref to jump in for the standing TKO in round 2.

Jimmy Meza def. Matt Adcock- Adcock had a strong first round with 3 successful takedowns. Meza came back in the 2nd with a big right hand that led to some hard knees to the head. The 2nd ended with Meza on Adcock’s back hunting the rear naked choke. Round 3 Meza scored with some solid right hands. Adcock scored to takedowns and hunted a rear naked choke. The judges returned a unanimous decision in favor of Meza.

Jake Wilkerson vs. Isaac Sifuentez- Sifuentez charged Wilkerson and backed off after a few punches. Wilkerson throws a body kick, Sifuentez catches goes for the takedown and getting his head stuck in a fight ending guillotine choke.

Tedrick Macklin vs. Nathaniel Abril- Tedrick Macklin def. Nathaniel Abril- Abril looked to make the fight a grappling match. The fight headed to the mat after a Abril lateral drop, Macklin took the back securing a 1st round rear naked choke.

Gene Perez vs. Ben Vasquez-Vasquez comes out kicking, Perez corners Vasquez, the fists are flying, A Perez left drops Vasquez. Vasquez in on Perez legs scores the takedown. From the bottom Perez find the armbar getting the finish.

Joe Hurst vs. John Romero- Hurst got to clinch distance wrapped up and slammed Romero, not allowing Romero escape from the ground advancing to mount. Devastating ground and pound would ensue for the first round finish.
