Two Title Bouts on Tap for Bellator’s April 27 Event

April 27 Bellator MMA will be back at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, with Rory MacDonald and Ilima-Lei Macfarlane defending their Bellator championships.
The main event is the 4th and final Welterweight Grand Prix quarterfinal, where Jon Fitch will challenge Rory MacDonald for the Bellator Welterweight title. MacDonald (20-5) captured the Bellator 170 lbs. championship, with a unanimous decision win over Douglas Lima at Bellator 192. “The Red King” is now looking to rebound from a failed attempt to take the Bellator Middleweight title from Gegard Mousasi at Bellator 206. Fitch (31-7-1) a former WSOF Welterweight champion on a 5-fight win streak. Fitch is coming off a grinding out Paul Daley in his promotional debut, at Bellator 199.

The co-main event will see unbeaten Ilima-Lei Macfarlane defending the Bellator Women’s Flyweight title against Veta Arteaga. Marcfarlane successfully defended her title for the second title at Bellator 213, scoring her sixth career win by submission, forcing Valerie Letourneau to tap from a triangle choke. Arteaga (5-2) from Boise, Idaho, went 2-0 in 2018. Arteaga beat Emily Ducote by decision at Bellator 202 & submitted Denise Kielholtz with a standing guillotine choke at Bellator 205.
