The newest addition to the June 8th event at Buffalo Thunder will see a pair of New Mexico combat sports veterans and fans favorites battling it out, as Josh “The Destroya” Montoya squares off with Frank Baca.
Interestingly the two have not fought before, but both have been pro since 2008.
After more than three years away from the cage Josh Montoya (12-10) returned to action in 2018. Returning to the win column at King of the Cage Starbound 2, this past December, submitting Gene Perez. The man nicknamed “The Destroya” comes in also having pro boxing experience but has 9 of his 10 finishes in the cage by way of submission. The Santa Fe native has been fighting professionally since
Baca (16-5), a former King of the Cage champion, went almost four years between fights, with a couple falling through for various reasons. Baca will now return to action 21 months after going 3-rounds with Randy Steinke, at Iron Boy MMA 7. A dual threat Baca has 11 finishes, 6 knockouts, and 5 submissions.
