Sin City Showdown “Leo vs. Tabanao” Weigh-in Results

Mayweather Promotions is back at Sams Town live Friday (April 5) night, for another installment of Sin City Showdown, and this time they come with three unbeaten prospects at the top of the card. Before we get to fight night, there’s matters to be handled on the scale. Plus, quotes from the parties involved in the nights three highly anticipated feature attractions.

The main event is a 10-round, Super Bantamweight bout, pitting undefeated Angleo Leo (16-0) against Neil Tabanao (17-4) from the Philippines. Talking about the big moment ahead of himself, Angelo Leo says “This is my national TV debut but there’s no pressure. I’ve been visualizing this moment since I was a kid.” Neil Tabanao comes in this fight with a heavy heart, but also a deep motivation, “My mother passed away in December at age 48 from stage 5 kidney disease. I am dedicating this fight to her.”

The co-main event is a 10-round, Super Featherweight contest, with unbeaten Xavier Martinez (13-0) facing John Moralde (21-2). Xavier Martinez shared some knowledge that was given to him by “Money” himself. “With this game, it’s patience. And one thing I’ve learned from Floyd is to be patient. He says get it done the right way, and don’t rush. Because that’s when you mess it up.” John Moralde explained how deep the passion for boxing runs in his family. “Boxing has always been a big part of my family’s life and I’ve been boxing since I was six years old. Four of my siblings are boxers and one is a professional.”

Opening the Shobox card will be unbeaten Andres Cortes (10-0) meeting Baltimore’s Jahmal Dyer in an 8-rounder. Andre Cortes has big expectations for the statement he plans to make. “I think people will remember me after I knock this guy out in my backyard. It’s gonna be something you don’t want to miss!” Jahamel Dyer doesn’t seem pressed saying by his opponent. “He’s just another guy I’m stepping into the ring with. He’s nothing special.”
