Phoenix Rising 1 Weigh-in Results

Invicta Fighting Championships hosted the weigh-ins for its first Phoenix Rising tournamentThe story of the day would be two fighter missing the mark.

The event takes place at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Mo., on Friday, May 3, card streams on UFC Fight Pass beginning.

The one-night, eight-woman tournament is to crown a new Strawweight champion. The single-elimination tournament will have one round bouts for the Quarter & semifinals. The tournament final is set for three-rounds. The quarterfinal match-up were put together by random draw prior to the event. 

Japans, MIZUKI  was scratched from the weigh-ins due to complications with her weight cut, elevating Amber Brwon into the tournament. Brazil’s Janaisa Morandin took to the scale but miss the mark giving India’s Manjit Kolekar entrance  to the tournament.

An incentive has been added to the quarterfinal, as finishes will earned bonuses, and the fastest finisher gets to pick their opposition for the semifinal. In a scenario where there are no finishes the match-up’s will be done by random draw.
