Newly signed to Bellator MMA “Notorious” Nick Newell will make his promotional debut at Bellator 225 against Corey Browning.
Bellator 225 is August 24th at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Newell (15-2) is a former XFC champion. The Connecticut native has all 12 of his finishes, 10 if which have come by submission, inside the first round. Newell has fought Justin Gaethje for the WSOF title & Alex Munoz on the Contender Series. “Notorious” is coming off a submission of Antonio Castillo Jr. at CES MMA 56.
Browning (4-1) comes in with considerably less pro experience than his opponent but has already pulled off a pair off upsets in his Bellator career. The first came at Bellator 207 scoring a TKO of Kevin Ferguson Jr. The second was a heel hook of English reality star Aaron Chalmers in Newcastle, England.
