The LFA Flyweight title will be up for grabs in a rematch as the promotions returns to Colorado for LFA 78.
Former title challenger Brandon “Raw Dwag” Royval & Jerome “The Renegade” Rivera will square off one again. The first bout at LFA 39 was unforgettable as Rivera suffered an elbow injury early in the bout. Royval would take advantage of the situation landing a fight ending head kick.
Royval would earn a title shot after a unanimous decision win over Charles Johnson at LFA 48. A war with Casey Kenney at LFA 53 would see Kenney leave with a decision victory and the belt. The Factory-X product got back in the win column at LFa 65 submitting Joby Sanchez by armbar.
Rivera is a 24-yaer-old from Santa Fe, New Mexico, who fought Roberto Sanchez for the inaugural LFA Flyweight title back at LFA 14. “The Renegade” returned to action after his injury at LFA 39, in February submitting Gene Perez, in front of his hometown fans at the Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino. It was the 5th submission win of his pro career.
The co-main event will be a Welterweight contest pitting Anthony “SugaFoot” Adams a former Sparta Combat League champ , who’s coming off a knockout of Josh Cavan at LFA 57, against former VFC champ Kassius Kayne, who won his 9th by knockout stopping Devoniere Jackson in late June.
LFA 78 is October 4th at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado.
