The Hollewood View of “Warriors Collide”

Warriors collide @Embassy suits. We start the night off with Daniel Flores 1-4 vs Joel Tarraza in his pro debut. Not to sure of a armature back ground on Tarraza, but his punches leaving his hip and returning back where they came from; allowed me to to understand his experience level. Flores connecting to a unprotected chin of Tarraza, at one point even spinning Tarraza around. Not sure if it was due to his boxing knowledge or if he was already feeling fatigue, he was heavily breathing on his way to the corner after the first is what i had saw. But that didn’t stop him from opening the second round in the same style as the first round. But this time Flores keeps his guard up waits for Tarraza to tire out, which only takes about thirty seconds. The Flores retaliates with a combination of left hooks and over hand rights, with lack of engagement from Tarraza; the ref calls a stop to the belt. Flores improving to 2-4 and Joel Tarraza losing his pro debut 0-1

In bout number 2, we had two debuts Santiago Giron vs Jose Villapando. Giron comes out circling to the right, Villapando try to see if there’s a way inside on the taller Giron. Villapando clearly not knowing his range, steps in close perimeters; getting caught with lead right hands, lead upper cuts. Leaving Villapando rest on the ropes, setting up and blasting Villapando to the canvas early in the first round with a solid left hook. Which seem to like it should’ve been a stoppage do to what i see as shaky/wobbly legs, the ref slaps his hands together signaling the bout to continue. But shortly after a party of punches from Giron, the ref steps in and waves it off. Giving Santiago Giron his first win by KO 1-0 Jose Villapando 0-1

In the third bout brings us an ex MMA fight but also does have a pro boxing record of 3-2 vs Isaac Sifruentez 0-3. Donald out the bell looks pretty calm circling to his right, and Isaac on the other note of just trying to get Sanchez out of there early. Sanchez takes a half step back and follows SiFruentez lazy jab back with a straight right, flooring Isaac to the canvas. Sifruentes quickly back on his feet, the fight continues but not for long. Sanchez put the peddle to the metal as if he knows Sifruentes is not ready to continue. Sending Sifruentes back to the canvas with another devastating right. The ref automatically sees Sifruentes can no longer continue. Donald Sanchez improving to 4-2 giving Isaac Sifruentes his 4th lose 0-4

In the women’s bout of the night, we have Leanna Martinez out of Espanola New Mexico with record of 4-1 vs Lorriana Villalobos from Los Angeles CA 3-2. From the first bell, Martinez give Villalobos left to right feet movement while Villalobos is in the hunt position; throwing every punch with meaning. Martinez lazy with the jab bringing it back to her chest, leaves opportunity for Villalobos to land continuously with a devastating right hand. Martinez reacting only with more pressure, but the forward movement with her hand mid range only give Villalobos opportunity to catch Martinez walking right in to thunders over hand rights.in round 2 the distance is kept only for a short moment, right until Villalobos get her in range and starts dropping bombs. But Martinez don’t no what back down is. Toe to toe action. But its easy to see and hear in the exchange of the punches between the to, Villalobos was the harder hitter. Villalobos opens the 3rd round with intentions on ending it, with very accelerated and active punches hammering away. But it does not stop the tough as nails martinez from going toe to toe with Villalobos. At the end of the 3rd i see Martines with a goose egg over her left eye. Opening the third round the doctor sends Villalobos to the neutral corner and takes Martinez to the doctor to check the swelling around her eye. The doctor signifies Martinez is ok to continue. Villalobos comes out the neutral corner looking to end this bout early. Never giving Martinez to get off the ropes due to an entourage off punches, that the back row can here landing. They seem to work their way to the middle of the ring, where Martinez tried to tie up a couple of times due to the punches adding up that she was taking. Martinez developing more swelling on the opposite eye, the ref steps in and calls the bout off. With Villalobos picking the win improving to 4-2 and Leanna picking up her 2nd loss now 4-2

For the main event we had hometown FIdel Maldonado the Atrisco kid 26-4-1 vs Juan Santiago from Denver CO. Maldonado comes out moving to his left testing his rang with his jab, feeling out Santiago. With seconds after he let a straight and stiff left that Santiago never saw coming. Santiago was back on his feet in no time. Once ref signals to continue fighting, Santiago never had a chance. Relentless pressure from Maldonado was apllied, giving every reason for ref Rocky Burke to stop the bout in the first round. Maldonado improves to 27-4-1 and Santiago ads to his loses 16-17-2.
