The main event has, former 4-division King of the Cage champion, Juan “The Spaniard” Archuleta challenging Patricio “Pitbull” Ferire for the Bellator Featherweight champion; bout is also an opening round match-up in the Bellator Featherweight Grand Prix. Archuleta is on a remarkable 18-fight win streak, including being 5-0 in Bellator. “The Spaniard” comes in off a knockout victory of former champion Eduardo Dantas. Ferire returns to Featherweight after a technical knockout on Michael Chandler, to capture the Bellator Lightweight title.
The co-main event is the second meeting between, former Bellator & Strikeforce champion, Gregard Mousasi and, former UFC champion, Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida. Machida would come out victorious in the first meeting in February of 2014, winning by unanimous decision.
