LFA Postpones 2 events
The effect of the Anthem Sports & Entertainment Acquisition of AXS TV & HD Net was widely felt in the MMA community, and an after shock just hit.
The above mentioned deal has lead to AXS TV cancelling its broadcast deal with Legacy Fighting Alliance, after LFA 76.
LFA CEO, Ed Sores, has announced Friday’s LFA 77 at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota, will go on as planned; with the Heavyweight Tournament Final of Daniel “The American Predator” James versus Brett “Big Dog” Martin. Unfortunately without a broadcast, or Streaming partner, the promotion will postpone LFA 78 & LFA 79 until a new deal is in place.
Daniel James is on a three fight win streak. The native of the Windy City, is 2-0 in the LFA both victories by brutal TKO. Martin is on 4-fight win streak. The Michigan native holds multiple titles on the regional scene, coming off defeating Renan Ferreira at LFA 70; to punch his tickets to the Heavyweight Tournament Finals.
AXS TV had been the Promotions only broadcast partner since it’s inception in 2017, following the merger between Resurrection Fight Alliance (RFA) & Legacy Fighting Championship (LFC). Along with RFA & LFA, AXS TV also broadcasted King of the Cage, Strikeforce, XFC, CES MMA, BAMMA, MFC, Lion Fights, K-1; and I’m sure I missed a few other combat sports promotions on the network.
Legacy Fighting Alliance has been the top feeder to the UFC since their first event. Propelling countless fighters to the next level of mma competition weather it be the UFC, Bellator, PFL, or One.
