Bellator Signs Pair of LFA Vets

Bellator MMA has announced much needed depth to their Bantamweight & Light Heavyweight stables.

The promotion has signed, former LFA 205 lbs. champion Julius Anglickas & Bantamweight, Raufeon Stots. Both signing gives a breath of fresh air to divisions who are hungering for legitimate title contenders.

Anglickas (7-1) is currently on a 5-fight win streak. The Lithuanian fighter is coming off submitting Karl Reed, by rear naked choke in the 3rd round on this past seasons Contender Series. The 28-year-old has secured 4 of his 5 wins during this streak by rear naked choke, including when he captured the LFA belt by submitting Clayton York.

Just by signing the contract, I believe, Anglickas is a top 5 Bellator Light Heavyweight. The division is currently ruled by Ryan “Darth” Bader”, who has spent his last 4-fights up a division at Heavyweight. The next title challenger could come from the winner of Vadim Nemkov versus former Middleweight champion Rafael Carvalho. Former champion “Mr. Wonderful” Phil David is still in the mix, and dangerous as ever.

Stots (12-1) is 3-0 in the LFA, and is riding a 4-fight win streak. A product of the Roufusport Gym in Milwaukee, the man nicknamed “Supa” has 3 of his 5 finishes by submission.  Stots was last in action at LFA 68, defeating Ralph Acosta by unanimous decision.

The Bellator Bantamweight division has many more moving parts, but is still happy to gain another member. Former Bantamweight champion, Eduardo Dantas, had his last fight at 145 lbs. The most recent title holder who is signed to Bellator is Darrion Caldwell, who’s currently taking part of the Featherweight Grand Prix.  Kyoji Horiguchi is the Bellator Bantamweight champion, taking the belt from Darrion Caldwell at Bellator 222. Horiguchi then returned home to Japan and Rizing FF, where he lost his 132 lbs. Rizin title to Kai Asakura; who then became the Bellator number one contender by default. As for the guy signed to Bellator, unbeaten, “Patchy” Pat Mix would look to be in the number one contenders spot. All this means is that Stots has a talented field to compete against, and he could make an impact on the 135 lbs. division imminently.
