UFC on ESPN 6 Quick Results

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, for UFC on ESPN 6. The entire card is broadcasted on ESPN 2. The main event is prospect versus former champion, as unbeaten Dominick Reyes, the number 4 ranked contender at 205 lbs. welcomes former Middleweight champion “All American” Chris Weidman to the division.

Reyes is a perfect 5-0 inside the octagon. The Californian picked up his first three victories by stoppage, with TKO’s of Joachim Christensen & Jared Cannonier.  In March Reyes scored his best win a split decision over Volkan Oezdemir. Weidman has seen many highs and lows in his MMA career; from dethroning Anderson Silva & defending the UFC’s 185 lbs. title three times, to having lost 4 of his last 5 fights. The New Yorker will now embark in a new journey, moving up 20 lbs. in the hunt of his second world title. Both men feel the winner jumps to the top of the list for next in line to challenge Jon Jones, for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship.

The co-main event is the re-booking of the main event from UFC Fight Night 159 in Mexico City, where Jeremy Stephens was accidentally poked in the eye by Yair Rodriguez, just 15 seconds into the contest. The unfortunate incident lead to the horrendous seen of Jeremey Stephens having to be ushered away by security as debris was being throw towards the cage area. Even UFC personnel had to take cover  from being struck by flying objects. Add an incident at the hotel in Mexico, and this fight between devastating strikers is now a grudge match.
