Jayme Hinshaw returns to action at Bellator Japan

King of the Cage women’s Atomweight champion hasn’t competed since July of 2018 but won’t end 2019 with stepping in the cage.

Recently announced by Rizin, who is helping Bellator MMA promote the event, Jayme “Atombomb” Hinshaw (4-3) will face Kanna Asakura (15-4) as part of the postlim portion of the Bellator Japan card at the Saitama Super Arena on December 29th.

Hinshaw is on a three-fight win streak. The Fit NHB fighter started the streak in July of 2017, defeating Kelly Vilarino by decision. Four months later Hinshaw captured the KOTC title by submitting Melissa Karagianis.  The last time the “Atombomb” was in the cage she solidified herself as champion with a successful title defense. Submitting, now One FC competitor, Bi Nguyen. The inactivity of Hinshaw has been majorly due to injury issues, that are hopefully in the past.

Asakura won the Rizin Fighting World Bantamweight Grand Prix in. Asakura won two of the three tournament bouts including the finals by submission. At Rizin 14 Asakura took an eight-fight win streak into here bout with Ayak Hamasaki, who would win by submission.  The 22-year-old will head into the Bellator cage coming off a Rizin 18, split decision win over Alesha Zappitella.
