Cold War 5 topped by Roberto Duran Jr. vs. David Vargas

For the 5th consecutive year Holmes Boxing will start their 2020 season with Cold War. This time the main event will be headlined by the son of a legend.

The main event of “Cold War 5” will see Roberto Duran Jr. against, making his pro debut David Vargas. Duran Jr. won his first three professional bouts, two by knockout before losing a decision in June to Jermaine Corley. Duran now looks to rebound as he fights in the Land of Enchantment for the first time, taking on David Vargas from El Paso, whose making his pro debut.

In the co-main event Espanola’s, NM Leanna Martinez welcomes Indeya Smith from Dallas, TX, to the pro ranks. The 2018 Combate Americas, Copa Combate Tournament Champion, MMA fighter Andreas “The Bullet” Quintana ventures into the ring for a clash with Angel Villanueva, who’s coming from Odessa, TX to make his pro debut. Crowd favorite “Irish” Bryant McClain from Rio Rancho, NM will tangle with former interim KOTC champion and current ABF champion, unbeaten Desmond Hill from Odessa, TX.

From Santa Fe Lights Out Boxing, Estevan Segura makes his pro debut against Armando Cornejo from Albuquerque, NM. Coming off a successful pro debut Marion Gonzales from Hobbs, NM, squares off with Shane Hall from Clovis, who’s making his pro debut. Scheduled to open the card is unbeaten Javier Davio Aragon from Denver, Col versus Anthony Jones from Albuquerque, NM. Jones returns to the ring seven years since his lone professional bout.

Cold War 5 is February 8th at the Marriott Pyramid North in Albuquerque, NM.
