Frey-Cummins 2 Rebooked to headline Invicta FC 39

Invicta FC kicks off 2020 on February 7th with the atomweight title on the line.

The main event of Invicta FC 39, will see the rescheduled of what was originally scheduled to headline Invicta FC 37; Jinh Yu Frey defends the Invicta atomweight title against Ashley “Smashly” Cummins. Frey won the vacant atomweight title and defended in her last two contest inside the Invicta cage against Minna Grusander. The two have fought once. Back at Invicta FC 24, Frey defeated Cummins by unanimous decision. Cummins has since won consecutive decisions over Stephanie Alba & Jessica Delboni to earn number one contender status.

The co-main event will decide the next number one contest in the flyweight division, Pearl Gonzalez vs. Miranda Maverick. Gonzalez has won four of five fight since signing with Invicta FC. Most recently “The Chi-town Princess” defeated Brogan Walker-Sanchez by decision at Invicta FC 37. Maverick won the Phoenix Rising 2, flyweight tournament; submitting DeAnna Bennett in the finals.

Invicta FC 39 takes place at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, with the card streamed on UFC Fight Pass.
