Rapid Results for UFC Rio Rancho

The Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, NM is host of UFC on ESPN+ 25. Its Been six years since the Octagon has touched down in the Land of Enchantment and they are back with a number one contenders bout in the light-heavyweight division. On a four-fight win streak, number five ranked Corey “Over Time” Anderson faces number six ranked Jan Blachowicz from Poland; whose won six of his last seven.

Raulian Paiva ended a two-fight skid with a crushing over hand right in the second round stopping Mark De La Rosa. Devasting knees in the clinch and two round of ground dominance saw Macy Chiasson beat Shanna Young. After a close first round Merab Dvalishbili separated himself with a high pace ground and pound attack, on route to the decision win. Leaning on his wrestling Devin Clark got back in the win column by dominate decision win over Dequan Townsend. The power punching of Scott Holtzman made the difference drawing blood from Jim Miller and taking the decision win. A counter left hook in the early stages of the third sent Nathaniel Wood to the mat Dodson swarmed with punches forcing ref Joe Coca to jump in for the stoppage.  Daniel Rodriguez pulls off a major upset several time clipping Tim Means with left hook. Mean tired shooting a takedown but got trapped and was forced to tap from a ninja choke. Landon Vannata found his groove once again out striking Yancy Mederios for the decision win. Vannata finding the space to land classic spinning attacks. In vintage style Ray Borg closed the distance and spent the 2nd & 3rd rounds grinding Bontorin up on the mat to win a unanimous decision. Montano De La Rosa versus Mara Romero Bortella was mainly contested on the mat. The first half of round one saw Bortella in control. De La Rosa reserved position to come back in the 2nd half of the round. Round two De La Rosa racked up the control time while hunting for a rear naked choke. A knockdown in the third round and Montana De La Rosa cruses to a decision win. The co-main event ends in controversy as Michel Pereira hits Diego Sanchez with an illegal knee to the head as Sanchez had one knee down. The two rounds prior to the foul had Pereira stalking Sanchez and landing the scoring strikes.  Jan Blachowicz exacted his revenge in the main event, peppering away with his jab, avoiding the grappling, and  knocking out Corey Anderson with an overhand right.
