What happened on the scale at UFC on ESPN+ 27
The weigh-in’s for UFC on ESPN+ 27 took place earlier today in Virginia. Unfortunately two competitors missed weight and there’s a new narrative to the main event. Heading into today the main event was set to see Joseph Benavidez vs. Deiveson Figueiredo for the vacant UFC flyweight title. That was till Figueiredo missed weight by 2.5 lbs..
This card was plagued by injuries but all three replacements Spike Carlyle, Darrick Miner, & Steve Garcia Jr. made weight. It was Miner’s opponent Grant Dawson who missed the marking, coming in 3.5 lbs. heavy.
UFC on ESPN+ 27 takes place at the Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia; the whole card streams on ESPN+ starting at 5pm ET.
