Handful of fights on Tap for UFC’s May 16th Event

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has set their sights on accomplishing an enormous goal. Three events in a week’s span during the Covid-19 Pandemic. It would appear that the card for event number three is slowly being revealed.

The week of festivities is set to start with UFC 249 on May 9th. Additional events are scheduled for May 13th & 16th. All three will take place at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena . 

The main event for May 16th is expected to see number 8 ranked contender Alistair Overeem versus number 9 ranked Walt Harris. The fight is being booked for the third time. In April the bout was set to headline UFC Fight Night Portland.

At bantamweight number 13 ranked Song Yadong, who’s on a seven-fight win streak takes on number 14 ranked Marlon Vera, who’s on a five-fight win streak.Number 11 ranked lightweight Edson Barboza makes his featherweight debut against number 15 ranked Dan Iga, whose won five straight. Rebooked from April 11th, “Ya boi” Eryk Anders takes on Poland’s Krzysztof Jotko, bot have won consecutive bouts. Also, at 185 lbs. Kevin “The Trail Blazer” Holland, who’s won four of five faces Anthony “Fluffy” Hernandez, who submitted Jun Yong Park in his last outing.

  • Heavyweight Bout: Alistair Overeem (45-18) vs. Walt Harris (13-7)
  • Bantamweight Bout: Song Yadong (15-4-1) vs. Marlon Vera (17-5-1)
  • Featherweight Bout: Edson Barboza (20-8) vs. Dan Ige (13-2)
  • Middleweight Bout: Eryk Anders (13-4) vs. Krzysztof Jotko (21-4)
  • Middleweight Bout: Kevin Holland (16-5) vs. Anthony Hernandez (7-1)
