Trio of bouts announced for UFC Fight Night on April 25th

UFC President Dana has announced the promotion is preparing itself to be able to return to business as normal, putting on MMA card almost every weekend. That means fight announcements a plenty. The first three bouts for the card following UFC 249 have become public.

In a light-heavyweight bout Ion Cutelaba (15-5) will face former title challenger Ovince St. Preux (24-13). Cutelaba is coming off a controversial TKO loss to Magomed Ankalaev, where the ref mistakenly took Cutelaba’s rope a dope for being hurt and stopped the fight. The UFC had rescheduled the bout the UFC 249, but it won’t happen on account of Ankalaev being stuck in Russia due to travel restrictions. “OSP” was last in action at UFC on ESPN+ 18 back in September submitting Michal Oleksiejczuk. St. Preux has been scheduled to face Shamil Gamzatov on the same date.

In middleweight action Marvin “The Italian Dream” Vettori (14-3-1) will square off with New Jersey’s, Karl Roberson (9-2). Vettori is coming off consecutive decision wins over Cezar Ferreira & Andrew Sanchez. “The Italian Dream” had been scheduled to face Darren Stewart on March 21st, before UFC London was canceled. Roberson also has back to back wins, he’s beat Wellington Turman by decision and submitted Roman Kopylov. Roberson had been scheduled to face Makmud Muradov at UFC 249, before that card got turn upside down.

In heavyweight action rebooked from the canceled UFC Fight Night event scheduled for Portland Oregon on April 11th, Dontale Mays (7-3) welcomes unbeaten Brazilian Rodrigo Nascimento (7-0) to the octagon.

A location for UFC Fight Night 173 and details on how you can watch have yet to be announced.
