LFA 84 Quick Results

The Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota plays host to LFA 84. A four-fight card headlined by Justin “J-Train” Gonzales & Jake “The Working Man” Childers for the vacant LFA featherweight championship.

Recap: The Card got started with featherweight action. Karate fighter Bruno Silva and Jiu Jitsu expert Kamuela Kirk kept it standing for three rounds. A sharpe trap kick, allusive movement, and stinging counter strikes earn the decision win.  Boston Salmon & Shawn West traded hooks and low kicks for nearly six minutes. Early in the second round simultaneous hooks landed. West was staggered while Salmon went to the ground. West comes in for the fishes But lands a illegal knee knocking  Salmon out cold. The commission made the appropriate call giving Salmon a disqualification victory. In the co-main event Maycon Mendonca spent the first round on top of Kassius Kayne landing strikes while defending leg lock. In the second round Mendonca lands a spinning back kick to the body. Mendonca rushes in with a flying knee. Kayne caught Mendonca for the takedown. On the ground Mendonca quickly locks up and forces Kayne to tap from a triangle choke. Justin Gonzales came out fast in the main event spending much of the first round on top. Gonzales took the fight back to the ground in the second but Childers from a kimura took Gonzales back. Childers didn’t find the finish but has a pair of significant submission attempts before Gonzales escaped to his feet. Gonzales let his strikes fly in the third, ripping hooks to the body and peppering straight rights and uppercuts to Childers head. Gonzales goes back to a crashing body attack to open the forth round up. As Childers started to crumble, Gonzales swarmed in punching till the ref jumped in. Justin Gonzales become the LFA featherweight champion by forth round technical knockout.
