Steve Garcia Jr. faces Peter Barrett at UFC Fight Lewis vs. Oleinik

August 8th Steve “Mean Machine” Garcia Jr. will step into the octagon for his 2nd UFC appearance.

First reported by MMA Junkie, the “Mean Machine” will take on Peter “Slippery Pete” Barrett on the UFC Fight Night Lewis vs. Oleinik Card.

Garcia  Jr. got the call to sign with the UFC on a four fight win streak that saw three straight knockouts. On short notice, up a weight-class, Garcia went three rounds with Luis Pena. The Jacksonwink fighter has all eight of his finishes by knockout.

Barrett has spent the majority of his career fighting for east coast promotions CES & Cage Titans. “Slippery Pete” earned his UFC contract last August defeating Sang Hoon Yoo by unanimous decision in what was an absolute war. The COVID-19 pandemic cancelled Barrett’s originally scheduled debut, where he was going to face Danny Henry in April. Barrett has finishes in nine of his eleven wins, seven by knockout.

UFC Fight Night Lewis vs. Oleinik is August 8th at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
