2020 Contender Series, Episode 3 results

The UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts week 3 of the 2020 season of Dana White’s Contender Series taking place on ESPN+.

Ken Cross won his fifth in a row out grappling Kevin Syler for a unanimous decision win.  Josh Parisian scored his second first round TKO win on the contender series, a knee touched Chad Johnson on the chin, sending Johnson off balance and to the mat. Parisian followed, mounted, and finished the fight with strikes. Orion Cosce fought off Matt Dixon’s take-down attempts for two rounds before getting the top position trapping Dixon’s arms and pounding to the finish. Cheyanne Buys won her fourth straight by decision. Beating up Hilarie Rose on the ground in the first. In the clinch for the majority of the second frame. And showed a bit of everything in the third round including taking Rose’s back. Louis Cosce starches Victory Reyna with a over hand left, follows to the ground and punches to the first round finish.

This week Dana White awards contracts to Josh Parisian, Orion Cosce, Cheyanne Buys, & Louis Cosce. That’s 12 contracts handed out in three weeks. 

  • Welterweight Bout: Louis Cosce (7-0) def. Victory Reyna (11-5) by TKO (punches) 1:12 R1
  •  Women’s Strawweight Bout: Cheyanne Buys (5-1) def. Hilarie Rose (4-2) by (30-27 x3) unanimous decision
  •  Welterweight Bout: Orion Cosce (7-0) def. Matt Dixon (9-1) by TKO (strikes) 4:42 R3
  •  Heavyweight Bout: Josh Parisian (13-3) def. Chad Johnson (6-2) by TKO (ground & pound from mount) 3:43 R1
  •  Lightweight Bout: Ken Cross (11-3) def. Kevin Syler (10-1) by (30-27, 29-28 x2) unanimous decision
