The UFC will open October with deciding who’s the number one contender in the women’s bantamweight division.
Holly Holm versus Irene Aldana has been rescheduled for the main event of the UFC’s Fight Night event on October 3rd. They were originally scheduled to fight on August 1st, but that was cancelled after Aldana tested positive for Covid-19. Holm (13-5) a former UFC and multiple time boxing champion, put herself back in title contention with a unanimous decision win over, number five ranked contender Raquel Pennington to start off 2020. Aldana (12-5) has won five her last six fights. The Mexican fighter became a viable title challenger after a first round knockout of Ketlen Vieira at UFC 245.
