“Overtime” signs with Bellator MMA

Corey Anderson is now a member of the Bellator MMA roster.

Bellator president announced the news on twitter. It’s reported that Anderson has signed a multi-fight deal. Not a free agent Anderson asked for and was granted his release from the UFC where he is currently the number four ranked contender in the UFC’s Light-heavyweight division.

No detail on when Anderson will make his promotional debut or who he could fight. In February, “Overtime” was knocked out by Jan Blachowicz in the main event of UFC Rio Rancho. The loss ended a four-fight win streak that included a decision win over Glover Teixeira & TKO of Johnny Walker.

Anderson recently posted on social media that following his fight in February he fell suffering serious injuries. The poster also stated that Anderson feels he was not adequately evaluated, which lead to a later episode of passing out. Anderson also noted that he’s been cleared to return to action after consulting professionals.

Anderson was selected to be part of the cast of season 19 of The Ultimate Fighter reality show at 3-0. Three decision wins would get Anderson into the finals where he’d TKO Matt Van Buren in 61 seconds. The TUF 19 winner end his UFC run with a 10-5 mark.

Heading to Bellator MMA, the Illinois native fighting out of New Jersey will most likely be right in the mix for a title contention.
