UFC has Parted way with Ray Borg

Former flyweight title challenger Ray “The Tazmexican Devil” Borg is no longer a member of the UFC roster.

The news has made its way all around the internet, but details of what lead to the decision are scares. Last Friday it was announced that Ray Borg would no longer be fighting Nate Maness. This was the second fight in a row that Borg had to withdraw from. Due to personal reasons Borg was forced to withdraw from fighting Merab Dvalishvili, two days before the fight.

In all during his UFC run Borg has 13 fights cancelled. He was forced to withdraw from fights nine times for various reasons, had three fights where the opponent withdrew, and one fight cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The Tazmexican Devil” has won two of his last three fights. Borg ended his 2019 with a decision win over Gabriel Silva. Then kicked off 2020 with a win her at UFC Rio Rancho defeating Rogerio Bontorin by unanimous decision. In May Ricky Simon halted the Borg win streak, earning the split decision nod from the judges.

Borg (13-5) was signed to the UFC at 6-0 having fought for King of the Cage, Legacy FC, and having won a regional title in Oklahoma.
