Macfarlane defends title against Velasquez in Bellator 254 headliner
December 12th two unbeaten fighters will vie for a Bellator championship.
Women’s flyweight champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane (11-0) will put the title on the line against Juliana Velasquez (10-0).
Hawaii’s Macfarlane has successfully defended her throne four times since taking the Bellator crown in 2017. “The Ilimanator” finished three of those four defenses prior to getting to the judges score cards. The 30-year-old has six of her eight finishes by submission.
Velasquez is a Team Nogueira member from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The 34-year-old is 5-0 in Bellator but due to injury has not fought since a decision win over Bruna Ellen at Bellator 236. Velasquez has four of her five finishes by knockout including stopping Rebecca Ruth at Bellator 197 with a body shot and overwhelming Kristina Williams with punches at Bellator 244.
December 12th Bellator 254 takes place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
