McGregor vs. Poirier 2 set for UFC 257

The first UFC pay per view of 2021 will now officially be headlined by a lightweight rematch the world has been waiting for.

 “The Notorious” Conor McGregor & Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier first fought at UFC 178, over six years ago. McGregor won by first round knockout. They’ll meet again on January 23rd at UFC 257 on Yas Island. 

It will be a year between fights for Conor McGregor who knockout out Donald Cerrone in 40 seconds last January. The number four ranked contender in the lightweight division, McGregor has 19 of his 22 wins by knockout.  The Irishman wastes no time getting to work with 14 wins in the first round.

Dustin Poirier last fought in June defeating Daniel Hooker by unanimous decision in a bout that on the list of candidates for fight of the year. “The Diamond” is currently ranked as the number two ranked contender at 155 lbs., with wins in six of his last eight fights.

  • Middleweight Bout: Andrew Sanchez (12-5) vs. Andre Muniz (20-4)
  • Lightweight Bout: Nasrat Haqparast (12-3) vs. Arman Tsarukyan (15-2)
  • Lightweight Bout: Ottman Azaitar (13-0) vs. Matt Frevola (8-1-1)
