Waterson vs. Ribas on Tap for UFC 257
January’s UFC 257 has gained a top ten women’s Strawweight contest.
Number six ranked strawweight contender Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson will square off with number nine ranked Amanda Ribas.
Waterson is a former Invicta FC atomweight champion, who trains out of JacksonWink MMA. The 34-year-old has won four of her last six fights, coming off a decision win over Angela Hill in the main event of the UFC’s September 12th Fight Night. A pro since 2007, Waterson has collected 12 finishes, nine by submission.
Brazil’s Ribas is on a five-fight win streak that includes a 4-0 mark in the UFC. In July Ribas put fourth her best performance to date moving up to flyweight and submitting Paige VanZant in the first round by armbar. The 27-year-old black belt in BJJ & Judo has seven finishes, four have come by submission.
UFC 257 is January 23rd at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
