Nazte Diaz is back to face Leon Edwards at UFC 262

The unexpected can be scary, it can be stressful, but like the announced co-main event for UFC 262 the unexpected can be exciting.

In the first non-title five-round co-main event in UFC history number three ranked welterweight contender Leon “Rocky” Edwards (18-3) will battle Nate Diaz (20-12).  UFC 262 is May 15th at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The main event has Charles “Do Bronx” Oliverira & “Iron” Michael Chandelr squaring off for the vacant UFC lightweight championship.

Edwards has won eight fight in a row. Even tho his first fight in almost two-years, earlier this month against Belal Muhammad ended in a no contest after Edward poked Muhammad in the eye for the second time. Edwards win streak has included beating the likes of Vicente Luque, Donald Cerrone, & Rafael Dos Anjos. “Rocky” is Jamaican residing in England who has six of his nine finishes by knockout.

Diaz is one of the UFC’s biggest draws and most popular fighters. The fighter from Stockton, California, who won season 5 of TUF has challenged for the lightweight title. Diaz’s pair of bouts with Conor McGregor are two of the biggest fights in UFC history. The first meeting at UFC 196 came on short notice for Diaz and when he submitted McGrgeor, it propelled Diaz into a whole different level of fame. One that would lead all the way to the creation of a special one time only BMF title. A belt that Diaz and Jorge Masvidal battled for at UFC 244, with a bittersweet ending as cuts around Diaz’s right eye forced the doctor to stop the fight prior to the third round.
