Nunes to defends bantamweight title against Pena at UFC 265

Juliana Pena has talked her way into a  title fight.

At UFC 265 on August 7th Amanda “The Lioness”  Nunes will defend the UFC women’s bantamweight world championship against Juliana “The Venezuelan Vixen” Pena.

Pena the number six ranked contender at 135 lbs., was going to fight former champion Holly Holm on May 8th. Before Holm withdrew due to a kidney issue. Pena then decided to go out on a campaign liked to a political effort to state her case to be Nunes next challenger, which as it turns out worked.

Pena the winner of season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter is 6-2 inside the octagon. “The Venezuelan Vicen” is coming off a submitting Olympian Sara McMann. But that was on the heals of being submitted by former champion Germaine De Randamie.

Nunes returns to bantamweight after twice defending the UFC women’s featherweight title. At UFC 250 “The Lioness” beat Felicia Spencer by unanimous.  Nine months later at UFC 259 the 32-year-old used an inverted triangle choke to submit Megan Anderson. Running the Brazilians win streak to 12 in a row for the unquestionably greatest female mixed martial artist of all time.
