Knight vs. Bennett headlines Gamebred FC 1

Prior to challenging for the UFC welterweight championship, Jorge Masvidal announced he’d be taking on the role of promoter.

Masvidal has announced Gamebred FC 1 for June 18th in Biloxi, Mississippi. The promotion is the first of its kind Bare Knuckle MMA. The event will be available to watch through the Bare Knuckle TV app.

A pair of familiar names to MMA fans will be in the main event as UFC vet Jason Knight battling Pride vet Charles “Felony” Bennett. Knight is no stranger to Bare Knuckle splitting a pair of bouts with Artem Lobov. The Mississippi native returned to MMA in March submitting Cliff Wright by rear naked choke at iKon 5. Bennett has been competing since 1999 and has racked up 73 fights, including three in Bare Knuckle.

The co-main event will see UFC vet Brok Weaver against LFA vet Brandon Jenkins. In 2018 Weaver went three rounds with Joe Riggs at Bare Knuckle FC 3. The Alabama native is coming off a decision win in an MMA bout against Alexander Barahina at iKon 6 in April. Jenkins will head into his first Bare Knuckle bout of any sort with the momentum of pair of wins under the Caged Aggression banner.
