Souza vs. Garcia to battle for LFA title at LFA 114

The LFA featherweight championship will still be on the line in the main event of LFA 114 but there’s a change to one of the names on the marquee.

Originally slated to see Bruno Souza against Canaan Kawaihae. The August 27th main event will now pit Bruno Souza against Javier Garcia, after Kawaihae accepted a fight on Dana White’s Contender Series.

Souza (9-1) a Lyoto Machida protégé, who lost his pro debut by unanimous decision. “The Tiger” has ran off nine wins in a row. The last four have come in the LFA, including decision wins over Kamuela Kirk & Elijah Johns. While the Karate black belt got his lone finish in the octagon at LFA 95 taking Guilherme Santos with a mix of punches & elbows.

Garcia (7-3) is currently riding a three-fight win streak. At LFA 102 “El Mariachi” made his promotional debut upsetting much hyped AJ Cunningham by unanimous decision. Two events, four weeks later Garcia returned to the LFA to face Timothy Teves. This pulling off a dramatic third round submission win by triangle choke with just 11 seconds left on the clock.

LFA 114 takes place at The Factory at the District in St. Louis, Missouri, and streaming on UFC Fight Pass.
